0077. The Butcher family outside the Nags Head about 1900. From left to right they are Harry, Horace, Mr Butcher the publican, either Mary or Woodbine, Jack Butcher wearing a dress, as was usual for children at that time, aged three years, Mrs Butcher, an unidentified lady possibly employed in the pub. Mr Butcher first came into the area from Norfolk to be the gamekeeper for at Bingham. He later took over the Nag's Head. From photograph of Dora Butcher.
