0267.   Harby Post Office around 1900 when it was situated in Watson’s Lane in the house on the west side down from the Cross House. The 1904 map shows it with  PO for Post Office. The sign sticking out from the wall reads "HARBY POST OFFICE". Below the this the sign on the wall announces the services offered “Post Office for money order, savings bank, parcel post, telegraph, insurance and annuity business.”  In the doorway we think is Mrs Kemp who kept the Post Office then. The postbox is set in the bottom right of the window. The village bakery was in the building behind the Post Office. The names of the man and his dog are unknown. From the Towers collection.
