G125      To the memory of Samuel MORLEY, who died Novr. 20th, 1800; aged 67 years. Also three Children who Died in their Infancy.  Farewell my Wife, and be content, / For unto you I was but lent; / my time is past, my Glass is run. / My Children dear prepare to come.

 

G126      Sacred to the memory of Sarah-Ann & John, son and daughter of John & Susanna LEVESLEY, Sarah-Ann died Jany. 26th. 1822; aged 1 year & 6 months. John died Decr. 26th. 1830; aged 5 months.   Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.   Matt.xix.11.

 

G127      To the memory of William BLOUNT who died May 14th. 1826; aged 68 years.   With grief and pain I did complain, / And sorely was oppress’d, / Till God in love, did me remove, / And took me to his rest.

 

G128     Sacred to the memory of Ann, relict of Wm BLOUNT, who died May 22nd. 1834, aged 79 years.   Together moulder, side by side, / An aged pair: in peace they died: / Together once more will they rise, / To praise their Maker in the skies.

 

G129      Sacred to the memory of Ann wife of Thomas BLOUNT, who died May 12th. 1829, aged 27 years.   When I could stay no longer here, I left my husband and child most dear, / to the protection of kind heaven, / and died in hope to be forgiven.

   

G130      Here lieth the body of William CLAYTON who departed this life Feb.y 23 1753 aged 21 …………… [Remainder illegible. 1995 survey recorded additional words “Also James CLAYTON Brother of the above who died May 27th 1799”.   1982 survey confirms this. William Clayton’s death date now looks like 13 but 23 is much more likely as the burial register records that he was buried on 25th February 1753, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Clayton. James burial is recorded as on 29th May 1799.]

 

G131      Here lieth the bodies of Thomas CLAYTON and Elizabeth his wife   He died January 25th. 1761: aged 71 years.  She died May 7th. 1756: aged 64 years.  In this cold Bed, here consummated are, / The second Nuptials of an ancient pair: / Whom envious Death, once parted but in vain,/ For now himself hath made them one again. 

 

G132      Here lieth interr’d the body of Thomas CLAYTON   he departed this life, January 21, 1784 aged 66 years    I had my share of worldly care, / When I was living as you are, / But now my Body’s laid in dust, / To wait the rising of the Just.

 

G133      In memory of Mary, wife of Thomas CLAYTON; who departed this life: Feby. 10th. 1801 aged 71 years.

January 27th. 1784. aged 27 years.   Why should we strive with Death that is so bold, / That takes away the breath of Young and Old: / Then why should you contend,  or why complain / Make sure of Christ, & Death will be your gain.

 

G135          Sacred to the memory of John, son of John & Ann WATCHORN, he died Decr 25th, 1823, aged 29 years.   Grieve not for me, my Parents dear; / I am not dead but sleeping here, / My glass is run, my grave you see / Wait, but a while, you’ll follow me.

 

G136      In loving memory of Elizabeth, the beloved wife of Samuel SPRAY, who died Nov. 6th., 1901, aged 43 years. Be ye therefore ready also, for the son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

 

G137      In loving memory of Thomas WATCHORN, who died Oct. 28th. 1909, aged 69 years. Rest after weariness, peace after pain.  Also of Sarah, wife of the above died Jan. 8th. 1917, in her 77th. year.  Until the day break, and the shadows flee away.

 

G138      In loving memory of Thomas SHELTON, who died Feby. 28th. 1927, aged 78 years.  His end was peace.  Also of Jane, wife of the above who died Augst. 6th. 1927, in her 79th. year.  There is a link death cannot sever, / love and remembrance live for ever.

 

G139      In loving memory of William Henry, the beloved husband of Emma PARKER, who died November 16th 1937 aged 73 years  Until the day break and the shadows flee away   Also of Emma, his beloved wife who died October 15th 1953, aged 86 years. Peace, perfect peace.

 

G140      In affectionate remembrance of William HAYWOOD, who died April 18th 1887, aged 48 years.  Also of Mary Ann wife of the above who died Jany 25th 1885, aged 32 years.   “That whether we wake or sleep we should live together with Him”

 

G141      Sacred to the memory of Tho. HALL, who departed this life January 19th, 1754; aged 34 years    To the memory of Rebecca HALL his wife who  departed this life October 3rd, 1793; aged 65 years.

 

G142      Here lieth the body of George HALL son of George HALL and Mary his wife  He departed this life January 21 1739. Aged 26 years     All you that come  my Grave to see / As I am now So All must bee / Hopen in time make no delay / Death in my prime called me away / Short was my Rase long is my Rest / He takes them soon whome he loves best. [Headstone I.177 has a similar verse with "race" for "rase".]

 

G143      In loving memory of John HAYWOOD, born April 21st. 1841 died Augst. 8th. 1901   It is the Lord. Let him do what seemeth him good.

 

G144      In affectionate remembrance of John HAYWOOD, who departed this life August 31st, 1885; aged 80 years.  Thine own have we given thee. 1. Chron. xxix.14.     In affectionate remembrance of Ann wife of John HAYWOOD, who died July 17, 1870: aged 63 years. “Thy will be done.”

H146      In loving memory of Francis ORSON, born Sepr. 7th. 1842, died Decr. 30th. 1903.  Awaiting the resurrection morn. Also of Rebecca,  sister of the above born Jany. 10th. 1846, died Novr. 25th. 1900.   Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my bretherin, ye have done it unto me.

 

H147      Not lost but gone before   In loving memory of Anne Marriott wife of Francis ORSON, (of Sysonby,) who departed this life January 1st, 1884, in the 69th. year of her age . “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

 

H148      Thy will be done   In memory of Henry Marriott ORSON, the beloved son of Francis & Anne ORSON (of  …ysonby) who died …. 12th[Rest of inscription worn away. 1982 survey recorded died 12th March 1879, aged 30, son of Francis and Anne.  The burial register has the burial on 17th March 1879. The place in brackets may be Sysonby.]

 

H149      In memory of John ORSON, who died Dec. xxi, 1874; aged 80 years.   I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.    [Inscription repeated on other side of tomb]

H152      Here lieth ye body of John WHITE late husband of Jane WHITE, who died ye 5: day of December 1731: Aged 36: years [The burial register has the burial on 8th September 1709.]

H155      Here lie interred the remains of William ORSON, who departed this life August 20th. 1830; aged 65 years.     In memory of Ann, relict of William ORSON, who died May 15th, 1846; Aged 74 years. [Box tomb]

Year of his age.      Sacred to the memory of Ann ORSON the wife of John ORSON who departed this life the XVIII day of December MDCCCXII: in the … [1995 survey adds “..XX    year of her … . Burial register has “Ann the wife of John Orson (Yeoman)” buried 21st December 1812, aged 84.]

 

H157      Here lieth interr’d the body of Thomas the son of Richd & Mary DIXON; who departed this life June ye 25th, 1757, in the 24th year of his age.     Young men prepare yourselves to die, / For life is short and death  is nigh, / Prepare in time make no delay, / I in my prime was snatch'd away.

 

H158      Here lieth interr’d the bodies of Richard DIXON and Mary his wife. She died October 10th, 1746: he died November 15th, 1760:  she aged 56; he aged 72.    In this cold bed here consummated are, / the second nuptials of an happy pair; / whom envious death once parted but in vain / for now himself hath made them one again.

 

H159      Thomas WHITTLE [Too worn to read. 1982 survey recorded Thomas WHITTLE, died 25th July 17??; and Mary WHITTLE, date of death not recorded. The burial register has Mary WHITTLE, wife of Thomas, buried 28th May 1738 and Thomas WHITTLE buried 27th July 1738, who may be the same people.]

 

H160      To the memory of Ralph WHITTLE. He departed this life, September the 8th, 1767: in the 33rd year of his age.

 

H161      Here lie the earthly remains of Sarah, the wife of William BARNES; of Long Claxton.  She departed this mortal life January the 29th , 1771: aged 36 years.   Interr’d beneath, her body rests in peace, / Free from the sufferings of a long disease; / While her dear Soul! yt emblem of true love /  Has took its flight, to dwell wth Christ above

H166     Memory….….John GIBSON ……Mary …..….[rest of inscription worn away. 1982 survey recorded James GIBSON and Mary. The burial register entry on 13th April 1847 for John Gibson aged 40 might be this person.]

 

H167      To the memory of John Kemp GIBSON son of John & Mary GIBSON who died Jany. 7th 1855; aged 13 years. Also Fanny, daughter of the above, John & Mary GIBSON, who died in her infancy.  We cannot Lord thy purpose see, / But all is well that’s done by thee.

 

H168      In affectionate remembrance of Kezia, the beloved daughter of John & Mary GIBSON born Sept 16th. 1839 died Nov. 25th. 1869  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. Thess. ….. [Remainder worn away. Quotation is from 1 Thess. 4.14]

 

I.169      In affectionate remembrance of Frances, the beloved wife of William HAYWOOD. (of Grantham) who departed this Life the 18Th. October 1848; aged 46 Years.  O cruel death that separated here, / A loving Mother from her Children dear: / Who was a tender parent in her life, / And to her Husband a most faithful Wife; / Her days she ended here in grief and pain, / In hopes of everlasting joy to gain.

 

I.170      To the memory of John HAYWOOD, who died August 7th. 1821; aged 63 years.    Also Frances, relict of the abovesaid, who died June 5th. 1853; aged 88 Years.

 

I.171      To the memory of Willm. BEAN, who departed this life; February the 22nd 1801    Also near to him, lie the remains of Ann, his wife who departed this life; August the 25th 1797

 

I.172      In memory of Sarah, daughter of William, and Ann MACKLEY, who died July 3. 1845 aged 61 years.   Submission to the will of God / Let each sad bosom feel; / The stroke is from a Father’s rod / Who only wounds to heal.

 

I.173      Sacred to the memory of Ann, the wife of William MACKLEY, who died May 16th. 1823 aged 67 years.   O! Cruel death, that would no longer spare, / A loving wife and tender mother dear; / Great is the loss to those thats left behind, / But she no doubt eternal joys will find.

 

I.174      To the memory of William MACKLEY who departed this transitory life, in hope of a joyful resurrection the 11th day of April 1808 aged 53 years.   All his afflictions he with patience bore / Was not surpris’d when death was at the door / But in his maker was his only trust / In hope to rise in glory with just.

 

I.175      Sacred to the memory of Willm. BARNES, who died December 8th. 1859; aged 82 years.  Job.5.C.26.V. Tho’ hast come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season.

 

I.176      Sacred to the memory of Ann, the wife of William BARNES: and daughter of William and Ann MACKLEY of this parish who died March 28th: 1820. Aged 42 years.  Reader: An accident sharp and severe / Did put a period to my journey here; / A dreadful scald it was! ah hapless doom / Consign’d this woman to her tomb.  /  But why repine? Her happier souls at rest / Which while we weep she triumphs among the blest.

 

I.177      In affectionate remembrance of John SMITH. who died May 16TH 1882 Aged 21 Years. Ye……prepare yourselves to die, / ……most and death is nigh / M…. much of time and don’t delay / I in my prime was called away; / Though short my race, long is my rest, / God takes them first whom he loves best.  [Stone is flaking away. 1982 survey recorded he died 16th May 1882, aged 21. Some of the verse shown above is now illegible and is taken from the 1995 survey. The burial register has burial on 19th May 1882, aged 21.]

I.179      In loving memory of John BILBY, who died Sept. 3rd. 1916, aged 86 years.  We cannot tell who next may fall/ Beneath Thy chastening rod;/ One must be first, but let us all/ Prepare to meet our God.    Also Mary Ann, wife of the above who died Jany. 29th. 1924, aged 76 years.

 

I.180      To the memory of Edwd. WRIGHT, who died July 20th. 1840; aged 70 years.  A fellow mortal, beloved and lamented, moulders in the dust. We mark not the stone with his praises: but when the grave shall render up its dead and the secrets of all hearts shall be known, then will it be made manifest.    To the memory of Ann, wife of Edwd. WRIGHT, who died Novr. 9th. 1838; aged 62 years.   She was made willing by affliction to leave earth for heaven, and anxious to exchange the society of mortals for the presence of God.

 

I.181      In loving memory of Willie, the beloved son of Thomas & Rose KEMP, died Feby. 24th. 1908, aged 1 year & 8 months.  Safe in the arms of Jesus.

 

I.182          Sacred to the memory of Will, the son of Edwd, and Ann WRIGHT, who died April 26th, 1834 aged 30 years. Also George son of the above who died July 5th, 1833 aged 23 years.  How soon these youth’s were taken off the stage, / by God’s decree, just in their tender age / Afflicted much, yet patient ne'etheless, / In hopes to gain a future happiness.

 

I.183      In affectionate remembrance of Thomas KEMP, of Harby, who died June 24th, 1881, aged 77 years. Also Jane, wife of the above who died August 25th. 1888, aged 80 years.  Thy will be done.

 

I.184      To the memory of Mary, the wife of James KEMP. Who died January 7th, 1810; aged 39 years. Also, Mary, daug. of the aforesaid who died, March 16, 1810; aged 16 years.  Likewise, Eliz. Daug. of the above said , who died August 10th, 1799 aged 8 years. Tho’ here I lie, with two Daughters near to me, cut off in prime of life, as you may plainly see; / Husband and friends I left, likewise eight children dear, / For to lament the loss off [sic] us, that lieth here.

 

I.185      In remembrance of James KEMP, who died Jan. 27. 1837; aged 72 years.

I.189      In loving memory of William KEMP, who died July 14th. 1904, aged 43 years. “Peace perfect peace.”  Also of Sarah Ann, wife of the above named who died December 1st. 1945, aged 85 years.

 

I.190      Here lieth the body of Martha, the wife of John HARDY of North-Witham; she dy’d Sept. ye 20th. 1742. Aged XXIX.  Lo! Here I lie, ‘till Trumpets sound, / and Christ for me doth call; / and then I hope to rise again, / and die no more at all. 

 

I.191      In loving memory of William DUNSMORE, who died May 19th. 1905, aged 46 years. “Rest sweet rest.”  Also Mary Hannah, wife of the above died Feby. 4th. 1909, aged 45 years.   “Thy will be done.”

 

I.192      In loving memory of Elizabeth, the beloved wife of George KEMP, who died April 2nd. 1902, in her 70th. year.   I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. Isaiah 48.10.    Also of George KEMP, who died Sepr. 5th. 1908, aged 67 years.   Stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 1 Cor. 16. 13.

 

I.193      To the memory of Willm. SMART, who died April 14th. 1840: aged 66 years.  Also ElizH. relict of the above who died Feby. 24th. 1855: aged 83 years.  Also, Thos. son of Wm. & ElizH.  SMART. Who died April 20th. 1840. Aged 28 years. 

 

I.194      Sacred to the memory of James, son of Wm. & Eliz. SMART: who died July 17th. 1824; aged 24 years.  Also John, son of the aforesaid who died Decr. 27th. 1821; aged 14 years.  Youth is like a fading flower/ Cut down and withered in an hour.    Though lost to sight to memory dear.

 

I.195      To the memory of George, Son of William & Elizabeth SMART. Who died Jany. 4th. 1830; Aged 23 years. Also, Isaac, son of W. & E. SMART, who died Decr. 13th. 1837:  Aged 22 years.  Farewell dear parents do not mourn for us.

 

I.196      In remembrance of William, son of Willm. & Elizth. SMART, who died Jan. 15, 1869, Aged 63 years.

 

I.197      In affectionate remembrance of  John GOODSON, ………….1870 ………55 years. Ma…    …beck      ….ve [Stone flaked away. 1982 survey recorded John died 20th November 1870; and an unnamed person died 1891. The burial register has John’s burial on 23rd November 1870.]

 

I.198      Here lieth interr’d the Body of Benjamin HARGRAVE  He died September the 12th, 1784 Aged 65 Years. Also Ann, wife of the above, she died February the 28th 1799; Aged 69 Years.  Farewell vain World, I’ve had enough of thee, / Nor do I care what thou canst say of Me; / Thy Smiles I court not nor thy frowns I fear / All’s one to me, my head lies quiet here: / What faults thou’st seen in me, take care to shun / Look thou at Home, enough there's to be done. 

 

I.199      To the memory of William LANGLEY, who departed this Life June 12th, 1805; Aged 43 Years.  He was a Man of honest life, / A quiet Neighbour free from strife, / A loving Husband, sincere friend, / A faithful servant to the end.

 

I.200      In memory of Joseph, Son of William LANGLY [sic], by Esther his wife: He departed this Life, March 3rd. 1802. Aged 11 Years.  Since God to take my Child thought fit, / I’ll be content to part from it; / Because I know his heav’nly Grace / Will fit it for a better Place.

 

I.201      In remembrance of Esther, wife of Willm, LANGLEY, who died Oct. 28. 1837. Aged 76 years.

 

I.202      In loving memory of John WESSON, who died Decr. 8th. 1899, in the 87th. year of his age. And Mary, his wife who died May 12th. 1877, aged 74 years.  Also their four children  James, died in infancy Jany. 11th. 1836. Emma, died in infancy Augst. 9th. 1847. Joseph Turner, died March 7th. 1851, aged 12 years. Josiah, died April 30th. 1854, aged 3 Years.   The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

 

I.203      In most loving memory of Manners Octavius NORMAN; Born 5th. March 1818, died 28th. May 1899. For 46 years the beloved rector of this parish.   “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”

 

I.204      Here lieth interred the body of Charlotte Elizabeth NORMAN, she was born 30th. August 1828; and was married 13th December 1861; she was taken hence 16th April 1897; much lamented;  this stone is erected by her sorrowing husband M. O. NORMAN,  but I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope; for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  Thess iv.

 

I.205      In hope of a glorious resurrection here lies the body of Sarah ….. widow of the Rev …... Rector of ……. Aged 70 years. [Inscription worn away. These words taken from the 1995 survey, which suggests Sarah ARRED]

J207       here lieth ye body of John MATCHETT husband of Alice MATCHETT who departed this life Oct 12 1710 aged 36 years  [remainder inc. verse indistinct]

 

J208       Mary SMITH    ……. separate the Soul from h    Body on the 30th. May 1783 in the 69th year of her Age.    [illegible italics]     a kind & indulgent Mother …….. friend & sincere Christian.  She died in the certain hope of  love   [the rest too worn to read. The burial register has Mary Smith, widow of Benjamin Smith, buried on 2nd June 1783.]

 

J209       In memory of Ann, wife of James SINGLETON: and daughter of Thos. & Mary SWIFT. She died April 3rd 1803 aged 20 years   Life is uncertain; death is sure; / sin is the wound Christ is the cure.

 

J210       In memory of Mary, daughter of Thos. And Mary SWIFT  she departed this life May 26th 1797 aged 16 years    read these few lines, and mark them well, / at 16 years of age she fell; / in beauty bright, and splendour gay, / so blooms, so falls, the flower of May: / in her let youth and beauty see,/  how short their date on earth may be.

 

J211       Here lie the earthy [sic] remains, of Alice WILFORD, widow of the late Edward WILFORD who departed this life November the 27th, 1796, aged 60 years.  From stately palaces we must remove , / the narrow lodging of a grave to prove; / leave the fair train, and the light airy room, / to lie alone benighted in the tomb: / God only is immortal, man not so, / life to be paid upon demand we owe.

 

J212       In the memory of William BARLOW, the son of John & Sarah BARLOW. Her departed this mortal life, the 16th, day of July 1794; aged 19 years.    As buds and blooms when cropt do fade away, / so this fine blooming youth he did decay; / a deep consumption o’er him so prevail’d, / that beauty, health, & strength, & all things fail’d: / but yet we hope, tho’ stript of earthly charms; his souls’ embrac’d in his dear Saviour’s arms.

 

J213       Here lieth interr’d the body of Sarah, the wife of John BARLOW junr. She departed this life July the 1st, 1776; aged 25 years.  Dear soul what passion doth attend thy urn, / it’s barb’rous to rejoice, in vain I mourn: / but this my consolation now thou’rt fled, / the fairest fruit’s the soonest gathered.

 

J214       Here lieth interr’d the body of Ann, daughter of John BARLOW; by his first wife. She departed this life August 20th, 1769: in the 23rd year of her age.  My days on earth were but a few, / I wasted like the  the morning dew; / When I could stay no longer here / I left my tender Parent dear: / To the protection of kind Heav'n. / And dy'd in hopes to be forgiven.  

 

J215       Here lieth interr’d the body of Sarah, the wife of John BARLOW senr. She departed this life November the 1st, 1780: aged 65 years. Go home dear friends & do not mourn, / I must lie here till  Christ return; / And at his coming hope to have, / A joyful rising from the Grave.

 

J216       Here lieth interr’d the body of John BARLOW senr. He departed this life, December the 7th, 1789, aged 75 years.  He was a man of honest life.

 

J217       In memory of John Alfred, son of John & Mary Alice BARLOW; who died 20th. Novr. 1839 aged 19 years.

 

J218       In memory of Thos. BARLOW, son of John & Elizth. BARLOW; who died 19th. Augt. 1824 aged 43 years.

 

J219       In memory of Mary Alice, the wife of John BARLOW, and daughter of Richd. & Frances ROWLATT, of Drayton in this county: died June 12 1829 aged 32 years.

J222       Here lieth interr’d the body of Elizabeth, the mother of John BARLOW senr, she departed this life October the 27th 1780: aged 89 years.  I now am free’d from worldly cares, / after a life of many years; / my strength by age fail’d me at last, / thus time and death brings all to pass.

 

J223       To the memory of Mary, wife of Thomas HALLAM: and daughter of Richard and Elizabeth KNAPP: who died Novr. 25th. 1825; aged 38 years. Also Thos. son of the abovesaid, who died in his infancy. Though lost to sight, to memory dear.

K227     Here lies interr’d Sarah the wife of Mr. John HUBBARD and daur of Mr. Robert HICKLING of Long Clawson. She died August ye 13th 1737. [buried 14th Aug] Aged 37 years. Near this tomb also lie interr’d two daughters of ye abovesd Sarah and Elizabeth  Sarah died June ye 11 Anno Dom. 1733 [buried 12th June], aged 12 weeks  Elizabeth died the 1 day of July Anno Dom. 1739 [buried 3rd July] aged 4 years.   

              Removed from the East end of Chancel 1875. [engraved on end of tomb.]

                   [The inscription on the opposing side of the tomb is too worn to be read but is probably to John HUBBARD. 1982 survey recorded John HUBBARD, d. _ June 1758 aged 61; and ____ HUBBARD, d. 7th June 1755, aged 19. the 1995 survey recorded this last as the son of John HUBBARD. The burial register has John HUBBARD buried on 8th June 1758 and Thomas, son of John HUBBARD, buried 9th June 1755. The burial dates interspersed in the text are also from the burial register.]

K246     Here lieth the body of Edward MOORE who departed this life, August the 16th, in the year 1796; aged 77 years.   Here also lieth the body of Amariah, the wife of Edward MOORE  she departed this life, April the 20th, 1794 aged 67 years.    A tender husband, and his virtuous wife, /  free from the troubles of this mortal life;  / lie sleeping here, in this cold bed of clay: / in hope to rise with joy at the last day.

 

K247     Levi Doughty WHITTLE, born Sepr. 10, 1837, died Jan. 19, 1888.  Ann, his wife died Dec. 18. 1880, aged 42 years.  Robert, their son died March 11, 1881, aged 15 years.  Walter, July 10. 1886, aged 18 years.  Interred at Longton.   James WHITTLE, born Sep 1. 1839 died April 28, 1893.

L255      Here lieth interr’d the body of Edward, son of Benjamin  and Ann ALLEN who died, Nov. 3rd; 1808 in the 21st year of his age.     Could the physician’s celebrated skill / call back the breath obedient to his will / or could an anxious parent heaving sigh  / forbid that his beloved son should die / could filial duty length of day’s insure / this youth would still have liv’d and liv’d secure / but ah! nought can oppose death’s angry dart / or ward it off when level’d at the heart / the youth is gone his soul has pierc'd the skies / Then let this Stone say here his body lies.

He died February the 21st. 1785; aged 35 years.

M275     To the memory of John, son of James and Sarah FRECK who departed this life November 5th. 1827; aged 24 years.    Oh! man, contemplate on thy mortal state, / and calm submit to the degrees of fate; / let virtue be thy guide while here on earth. /  then young or old ne’er fear to meet with death.

M279     Here lieth interr’d the body of Dorothy, the daughter of Wm, & Sarah FRECK  she departed this life June the 11th, 1797 aged 12 years.    Tho’ short my time, longer my rest will be, / cut off in youth as you may plainly see, / tho’ nurst with care, for parents dear had I, / who lov’d me well, and griev’d to see me die, / mourn not for me dear parents, be content / for unto you, you know I was but lent.

 

M280     Erected to the memory of William, son of William and Isabella FRECK:  who died July 20th. 1829; aged 13 years.    At length the Lord sent us a son, / we brought him up with care; / it was his will to call him home / and leave us to prepare.

M282     To the memory of William FRECK.  Who died Decr. 21st. 1820; aged 67 years.  He looked forward to heaven not as the reward of a virtuous life, but as the free gift of God to a pardoned sinner, justified by faith in Jesus Christ.

 

M283     In remembrance of Mary FRECK, who departed this life June 2nd. 1857; aged 69 years.  Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Prov.27.1.

 

M284     In affectionate remembrance of John FRECK, who died December 22, 1849; aged 71 years.  The memory of the just is blessed. Prov. 10. vii. Also Elizabeth relict of the above, who died February 8th. 1855; aged 65 years.  Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord. Rev. c.14. v.13.
