T431      To the memory of Geo. HALL, who departed this life Mar. IXth. 1869; aged 86 years.   Mary wife of Geo. HALL, who died Jan. XIIth. 1864; aged 77 years.  I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live.  John c.11. v.35. [Reference should be to verse 25]

 

T432      To the memory of Rebecca, daughter of Geo. and Mary HALL. who departed this life November 14th. 1830; aged 14 years.  My flesh shall slumber in the ground. / Till the last trumpet’s joyful sound: / Then burst the chains with sweet surprise / And in my Saviour’s image rise.

 

T433      Erected in affectionate remembrance of Thos. STOKES, who died Sepr. 20th. 1813; aged 38 years.  Also Sarah, relict of the above, who died Feby. 21st. 1853; aged 69 years.    Eternal rest give to them O Lord; and let a perpetual light shine upon them.

 

T434      In affectionate remembrance of Thomas STOKES, who died Feby. 10th. 1888, aged 76 years.  Also of Mary, wife of the above who died Jany. 13th. 1904, aged 85 years.  There the weary be at rest.  Job.3.17.

 

T435      [Very worn stone. 1982 survey recorded Thomas MANCHESTER,  died 1887, and Sarah MANCHESTER, died 21st August 1899 aged 81. Burial register has Thomas buried 19th April 1887 aged 73 and Sarah buried 23rd August 1899 aged 81.]

 

T436      In loving memory of James STARBUCK, who passed away Feby. 20th. 1909, aged 61 years.  Only good-night beloved, not farewell.  Also of Ellen Goodacre, beloved wife of the above who died March 21st. 1925, aged 76 years.    Faithful mother true and kind, / no friend like thee on earth we find.

U458     “Be wise to day, ‘tis madness to defer.”  This stone is erected to the memory of William DAFT, who departed this life Oct. 5th, 1862, aged 70 years.   Affliction sore long time I bore, / Physicians were in vain, / Till God did please to me release, / And ease me of my pain.

 

U459     Reader, prepare to meet thy God.  This stone is erected in affectionate remembrance of Ann, wife of William DAFT, who departed this life June 10th. 1851 aged 65 years. I am afflicted very much O Lord / Quicken me according to my word.

 

U460     In memory of Mary, wife of James MONKS, who died Novr. VIIth, 1876, in the 67th, year of her age.   Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.  Psal. cxvi. 15.

 

U461     In affectionate remembrance of Sarah, daughr. Of Matt. & Elizabeth JACKSON, who died, August 12th, 1865 aged 25 years.   The memory of the just is blessed. /  Tho’ lost to sight, to memory dear.

 

U462     Erected to the memory of Joseph, son of Matt & Elizth. JACKSON, who died Aug. 14th, 1858; aged 23 years.  Also James, son of the above, who died Octr. 24th, 1836; aged 9 weeks.    The righteous perisheth and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.  Isaiah. c 57th, v. 1st.

U464     Sacred to the memory of Matthew, son of Matt, & Elizth, JACKSON, who died May XV. 1848; aged 17 years.    Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours.  Rev. chap. xiv. Ver. 13.

 

U465     In loving memory of Mary Kate BARKE who departed this life June 27th. 1896, aged 22 years.   Not gone from memory / Not gone from love / But gone to her heavenly home above.   Also of Joseph BARKE, who died July 14th. 1904 aged 37 years.   In the midst of life we are in death.    The dearly beloved children of Robert & Mary BARKE.

 

U466     In loving memory of Robert BARKE, who died Aug. 25th. 1919, aged 86 years.  Also Mary, wife of the above who died Jan. 27th. 1921, aged 88 years.    Until the day break and the shadows flee away.

 

U467     In affectionate remembrance of Fanny the beloved wife of John JACKSON who died July 27 1888 [?] aged 61 years ………….. Also of John JACKSON who died Sept 6th 1896 aged 70 years.  …………..blessed.  [this stone is very worn]. [per 1982 survey Fanny died July 27 1888 aged 61; John died September 6 1896 aged 70. But per burial register Fanny JACKSON was buried 29th July 1893 aged 61whereas an Elizabeth Jackson was buried on 30th April 1888 aged 24; John JACKSON was buried on 8th September 1896 aged 70.]

 

U468     In affectionate remembrance of Matthew JACKSON, who died May 18th. 1870, aged 76 years.   Also of Elizabeth, wife of the above who died April 27th. 1888, aged 85 years.    “My times are in thy hands.”  Psalms xxxi. 15.

 

U469     John James JACKSON died July 15th. 1931, aged 57 and of Georgina May his wife died Feb 7th 1950 aged 71    Her end was peace

 

U470     In loving memory of Ann, the beloved wife of Samuel ISAM, who died Novr. 30th. 1908, aged 71 years.   Also of Eliza Ann, daughter of the above who died Jany. 1st. 1895, aged 25 years.   “Peace, perfect peace.”

 

U471     Here lie the remains of Matthew JACKSON, who died Sep. 22. 1849; in the 85th, year of his age.   Also Ann, wife of the above, who departed this life April 2. 1850; in the 90th, year of her age.

 

U472     In loving memory of Mary Ann, wife of William BURBIDGE, who died April 17th. 1891 in the 38th. year of her age.   Also of John Thomas BURBIDGE son of the above who died April 1st. 1882 aged 2 years & 3 months.  Interred at Sawley.   The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

 

U473     In loving memory of James STOKES assistant overseer of this parish born Feb. 15th, 1845, died Oct. 14th, 1910.  “For I know that my redeemer liveth.”    Also in loving memory of Sarah, sister of the above who died July 13th. 1915, aged 55 years.” I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” Heb. 13D.

 

V474     In affectionate remembrance of Mary Elizabeth, the beloved wife of Thomas STOKES, born October 14, 1847, died April 28, 1890.   The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.  Job. 1. 21.

 

V475     Sacred to the memory of James BARLOW, who died February 23, 1877, in the 89th, year of his age.  Also Ann BARLOW his wife, who died May 5, 1839, in the 44th, year of her age, and Mary, daughter of the above, who died March 18, 1840, aged 5 years.

 

V476     In memory of Edward, son of Thomas & Sarah WESSON, who died November viith. 1845; aged 11 years.     Also two children who died in their infancy.    Forbear to mourn for me my friends, / Or shake at death’s alarms; / Tis but the voice that Jesus sends, / To call me to his arms.

 

V477     In loving memory of Mary Elizabeth SMITH, who died July 4th. 1925, aged 67 years.  And Elijah SMITH, second husband of the above who died March 27th. 1927, aged 75 years.  At rest.  Also John Henry RAYNOR, son of the above killed in France Octr. 4th. 1917, aged 36 years.    Called from war to heaven’s perfect peace.

 

V478     In loving memory of James WESSON, who died May 4th. 1917, in his 85th. Year.   Until the day break.   Also of Maria, wife of the above who died Oct. 25th. 1923, in her 81st. year.    Peace, perfect peace.

 

V479     In loving memory of Mary Hannah, daughter of James & Maria WESSON, who died Sep. 21. 1897, aged 21 years.    “Not lost but gone before.”  Also three children who died in infancy.

V481     In loving memory of George Goo…. GRAY died April 22nd 1892 aged 2 years 7 months [verse buried] [1982 and 1995surveys recorded George Goodwin GRAY. Burial register has his burial on 25th April 1892 aged 2 years 7 months.]

 

V482     In loving memory of John Lee FRISBY, who departed this life October 14th. 1896, aged 70 years.  “We cannot, Lord, thy purpose see, / But all is well that’s done by thee”  Also of Sally, wife of the above died June 19th. 1911, in her 82nd year.  Rest after weariness, peace after pain.
