TYPES OF WASTE
What types of waste can be collected?

The Solway Bin & Liner system can be used to collect many different types of waste. We currently collect non-hazardous waste but a hazardous waste collection service will be established soon. It is important to keep the waste types (streams) separated as follows:
STREAM 1
Silage wrap, LLDPE
Silage pit covers
Small feed and fertiliser bags, LDPE
Sawdust bags
Plastic packaging, Shrink wrap
STREAM 2
Woven polypropylene
Bulk Fertiliser and feed bags
(Half or tonne bags)
Seed Bags
All bags must be EMPTY of residue product.
STREAM 3
Triple rinsed plastic containers
Pesticide containers
Dairy wash drums
Feed lick buckets. etc
ALL containers MUST be TRIPLE rinsed.
Metal handles must be removed from buckets.
STREAM 4
Polypropylene String
Net Wrap
Please shake off as much contamination as possible.
Hazardous waste
We will shortly be launching a new service for all hazardous waste producers. This service will involve the collection of all items listed below:
Aerosols,
Asbestos,
Batteries,
Fluorescent Tubes,
Grease Cartridges
Needles / Sharps,
Oil,
Oil Filters,
Oily Rags,
Pesticides (redundant)
Sheep Dips (redundant),
Tyres,
Vet Medicines (redundant)
